CINESTILL FILM SUMMER 2022

Maybe it is just me, but whenever I get film developed and I have to wait two weeks until my film scans arrive in my email box, my heart races when that email arrives and my palms sweat!

This was my first time trying CineStil 800Tungsten 35mm film. The film developing and scans were done by Indie Film Lab captured at The Masters of The Canyons presented by Dellwood Disc Golf.

“CineStill 800Tungsten is a unique color film for still photographers. This ISO 800 speed tungsten balanced color negative film is based on the same gold standard motion picture technology used by top cinematographers around the world. Designed for difficult low light tungsten situations, this flexible film is suitable for use in different lighting situations to achieve a variety of looks.” (CineStill)

The moments I captured below were on a bright sunny day. I especially enjoy the muted tones and light contrast. It feels like another era. But I am thinking ahead to what kind of lighting situations I want to use this type of film for in the future. It was fun to experiement, but I am thinking low light, night photography and during sunset with glowing highlights (like the last nature scene pictured below).
