Dellwood Disc Golf Diorama

The Canyons at Dellwood Park in Lockport, IL (brought to you by Dellwood Disc Golf), is one of the most picturesque courses out there. The park itself holds a lot of history with being the “hot spot” to be in the roaring 20’s. Now in its current state, it is the number eight disc golf course in the world according to UDISC.

Renowned artist, Christopher K. Brenholtz, shares his vision with us of hole 18 in the form of a diorama. That’s right, a disc golf diorama.

Okay, it is no secret that Chris is the love of my life. Seeing him go through the process to create this was amazing. I have no regrets for running out to the hobby store, with 5 minutes left till closing time, to pick up the final diorama trees.

The amount of time and vision that Chris put into this purely came from the heart and it will be available soon at Dellwood Disc Golf. Until then, here are just a few details of hole 18.

To photograph this, I did a couple of different test shoots. Both in the studio and outdoors. Ideally, they just looked better with natural light and grass in the background so that the viewer could fully submerge themselves in the outdoors. The images here are from two different outdoor sessions, sunset and sunrise. Captured with three different fixed lenses (60mm, 50mm and 24mm) on my Canon EOS-R.
