We had a fun casual round at the Frank Grimes Disc Golf Course in Channahon, IL, with my Dad (Radar) and Chrisb. The last time I remember being here was in 2019 for the Channahon Classic, and before that it was ten years or more.

This course is 18 holes with short and long tee placements.

Frank Grimes was a good friend to us. We were definately thinking of him playing here today.

He was nicknamed the sod father because of the work he put into this course, and so many others. Frank was one to never give up and alway lend a helping hand.

In the early to mid-2000s we spent a lot of time out here playing the course, its funny how clear some of those memories are when I walk this course. I can remember specific photographs in the exact place it was taken from over a decade ago.

I think that best thing about coming out to a disc golf course after so much time has passed by is seeing how much everything has grown (I’m making a mental note to do a recap post of then and now). Because you really don’t realize just how much things have changed.

The Mach 7 disc golf baskets that you see here today where donated and installed by the GJTS, Birdie Babes, J-Town Disc Golf Club and Link Disc Golf (some pictured below) on August 27, 2022.
