The Dog Bowl at Old Oak

The Dog Bowl was a charity event presented by the J-Town Disc Golf Club to benefit the Will County Humane Society on the Grounds of the Old Oak Country Club in Homer Glen, Illinois.

This event was a huge success with over $5,000 raised and more donated items than the shelter has seen from any other event.

The dogs had a great time socializing with everyone, one of which was adopted that day and several leads for forever homes were made.

On the tournament side, the disc golfers played one round on this picturesque 18-hole course that spanned the length of the ball golf course, singles format the their respective divisions.

I personally love everything about these local events. For one, these are the people who are all great friends, but I have personally witnessed their growth in the field through the years which has been so fun to watch.

That said, there were some memorable highlights made out there. Marc Borowski had a 75-foot uphill foot with a headwind, crazy! But then he also had a throw-in for two on the longest most challenging hole on the course.

The Joliet Prison Putting League’s champion, Matt Rooney, hit an easily 100-foot putt to save par and Joe Moore had a hole-in-one on the 18th hole to finish the round! Check out @dellwood_disc_golf on Instagram for the full interview of Joe’s ace and what his disc selection was.

These were just some of the shots that I witnessed or heard about, if you had or witnessed something amazing please share your experience in the comments below. Would love to hear your story!
