WHISTLER’S BEND OREGON
Whistler’s Bend is rated one of the highest disc golf courses in Oregon according to UDisc. It makes sense! This place is gorgeous and challenging. If this is not on your bucket list yet, it should be.
About Whister’s Bend
Whistler’s Bend Disc Golf course was established in 1991 and was re-designed in 2015. It features 27 uniquely challenging holes that go through the forest, there are long rolling meadows, and the North Umpqua River winds around the course bringing water into play on four of the holes.
GETTING HERE
Whistler’s Bend Park is located in Roseburg, Oregon (43.3131° N, 123.2163° W). It is not far off the same highway (138) that leads to Crater Lake National Park.
Things to consider
Bring a camera.
It is somewhat cart friendly. These hills are no joke! While a cart is manageable through this terrain, you might want to consider carrying a backpack.
Watch out for Poison Oak and Poison Ivy. I am a victim of getting poison oak here myself. The plant as a clear oil that will coat your skin and can be difficult to get off (especially because you can’t see it!), I recommend washing off with a cool damp rag after your round. If you get poison oak, Zanfel is a great over-the-counter product that many disc golfers use. It is a little pricey but is highly effective.
Bring plenty of water, electrolytes if it is hot, and snacks. There’s not really a good stopping point to get back to the car during your round, and this is a course that you do not want to play unprepared.

AIRBNB
The Nest is central to downtown Roseburg on two acres of land and is owned by a local disc golfer. It accommodates 4 guests with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
CAMPING
On-site camping is available at Whistler’s Bend Park in Roseburg, Oregon. There are to separate campgrounds: the upper and lower. The upper loop has 13 sites that are full hook up and 16 non-hookup. The lower campground is near hole 8 and 18 and is riverside along the North Umpqua River, with 26 non-hookup sites. There are also yurts available for rent at each campground, along with showers and restrooms.

Hole 17 at Whistler’s Bend is everyone’s favorite to unload their bag on with big air shots.
