2021 Ledgestone Insurance Open

Anything but ordinary. That’s how I would describe Ledgestone this year. I have been to almost every Ledgestone tournament since it started in 2011, and before that there was the Greater Peoria Open. This was the first time it ever ended with a tie in the MPO field, between Ricky Wysocki and Calvin Heimburg, due to the severe weather. It was such a sad way to see it end but I’m grateful for every moment of it.

I felt so fortunate this year to have Rob Banden as the lead photographer, his work has inspired me so much over the years that I had asked Nate Heinold if we could bring him on board. With disc golf growing in popularity it is very necessary to have more help on the media side. My role at Ledgestone wasn’t exactly what I was used to over the years but I highly enjoyed every minute and taking a step back for a change.

It gave me time to reflect and see the growth almost from the outside. It was refreshing! When you view my gallery here, it’s not focused on the action, rather it is about the people and the scene.

Here’s a little preview below. If you ask yourself, is that guy getting his crockpot signed? Without a doubt, yes he brought his crockpot for people to sign. That is reason number 1111 why I love disc golf fans so much.
