FRACTION RUN CUP 4

This event means so many things, but most importantly the Greater Joliet Tour Series by Dellwood Disc Golf has begun! I love this tournament, mostly because of the light. The sun is still at an angle for most of the day so that it casts these long beautiful shadows. I also love that today is the Spring Solstice! On the drive over to Dellwood Park I heard on the radio that at precisely 10:33am CT Spring has officially begun, and you could feel that vibe here.

I didn’t capture the field today with the “full tournament mode” in mind. Rather I took today to enjoy the time to chat with old friends and hang out with my Dad, who mind you got to the course at 5:30am (for no reason at all)! Seeing his level of excitement for disc golf always rejuvenates my soul.

There is no better feeling to see everybody truly doing what they love here. Sheila Callahan is a Reporter now. Doc is behind the camera capturing all the moments! Sean Callahan and Ryan Fancher are in the Directors’ chairs and JJ Callahan thinks it is a little too early in the season for portraits yet (which is fine - I understand he needs that sun kissed glow).
