35MM | ILLFORD SFX 200

These moments were captured on 35MM Ilford Harman Technology SFX 200 black and white film, expired September 2013 and was captured in December 2021.

There is something to be said about black and white film noir. It is no doubt a mood. I love the contrast between the light and dark tones here and defined highlights from shooting into or away from the sun.

Exposure wise, these images were taken at 1/2 or 1 full stop over-exposed on my Nikon FM2. Indie Film Lab in Montgomery, Alabama, developed and scanned it. I did not have them push the film (meaning, they used standard processing and did not over or under expose it a stop).

Every time I find myself getting back into film, I realize I love its artistic qualities so much more than digital!
