THE DELLWOOD BROCHURE
A whole lot of heart into this one! I put together this brochure for Dellwood Disc Golf in hopes that they would want something like this for their shop. As a creative, sometimes you never really know what a company or brand might want. It is best to make your idea come to life (even if its not fully formed or complete yet) and pitch it!
It is hard for me to call Dellwood a brand because they are great friends. But at the end of the day, they really are a great brand with a whole lot of heart that always provides so much for our local disc golf community here in Illinois.
After I re-designed their website last summer, and photographed many of their events I really started to think more about the things that they could really use on-hand, and a brochure (along with other marketing materials) came to mine. It can be found on The Canyons, Plan Your Visit page on the Dellwood Disc Golf website, and I am also currently in the process of printing physical copies for them to have in shop.
There was so much that went into the thought process of creating this. The Canyons is a destination course, known worldwide, and Dellwood Disc Golf is a premier in-person disc golf shop. That’s why I thought that they needed something on hand for their visitors to take home with them.
Inside the brochure there is information about how The Canyons and Dellwood Disc Golf formed, a full course description, hole layouts (with distance and par), a link to The Canyons course page on UDisc, places nearby to eat and drink, and other local disc golf courses.
Specs: it is 8 1/2 X 11, folded in half and printed front and back. I took the photograph on the cover, it is the Dellwood Diorama of hole 18 created by Chris Brenholtz and the copies that they will have in shop were all hand printed by me!
Honestly, I really loved everything that went into this. My favorite things about it are those little details from the silhouette of JJ Callahan PDGA #182076 and the quote above it that looks like its coming from him: “Disc Golf never gets easier, you just get better.” I pulled that quote from Dellwood’s sale receipts, that’s a quote from Sean Callahan, Dellwood’s owner.
On the course layout, for the par total I put an asterisk next to it (Par 87*), because *par doesn’t matter (something often heard at EVERY Dellwood event). I also loved researching the local eateries and hearing where Sean and Sheila Callahan (Dellwood’s owners) like to go. I hope you enjoy it!
